Right across the River from downtown Kampot is Fish Island (Koh Trey).

A sparsely populated island, surrounded on two sides by the Kampot River and one side by the ocean.

From downtown, on either bridge, turn left and keep going 'til you reach the Fish Island Bridge. A two or three minute ride. (you can walk here from town in about 10 minutes). You'll probably want a bicycle or rent a motorcycle to see the island. Like $5 a day for an automatic motorcycle.

Right across the bridge on the right is the only riverside Wat or Buddhist Temple. Everyone is welcome here in the daytime. A little further down the main road on the left is Fish Island Bungalows.

Continue down the road for a few minutes, and it turns into a red dirt road. Better than most roads in town. Where the road bends to the right, you can get off and go one minute more to Ela's Glamping, right near the River. However, you will want to keep going down the main road another 5 minutes. On the left, are Kampot's famous Salt Fields, to the left are rice fields, with Bokor Mountain in the background.

At the end of this road, turn right and follow it another 5 minutes to Coconut Mountain. Not much here really. Go through the mountain road (really a hill) and you'll find a noodle stand. However, keep going, best on a motorcycle, and you'll get stunning views, and end up at beach with mangrove trees.

Bring some food and drinks and enjoy. Not many, (or any) people around here usually. Just a nice, relaxing place. And the journey to the beach is outstanding!
