Kampot International Port

This is NOT the Kampot Tourist Port being built on the riverside.

The Kampot International Port is off of National Road 3, about a 20 minute ride from downtown Kampot.

It looks like it's going to be really big!

The port will be able to handle large vessels, including ships that can carry up to 30,000 tonnes of cargo.

Not sure of how they'll get cargo to and from the port, so there must be a plan to upgrade at least National Road 3 in some way. And maybe an airport somewhere nearby.

The port extends out in the sea to about 12 mile from Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam.

Somewhere on the internet, it says $300 million dollars is being invested, and that there will be a Special Economic Zone associated with the Port. Chinese firms are very involved in this project.

Not sure of a completion date.

You'll see a sign and entrance on the road (on the ocean side of the road, of course)
