Kampot and the Cambodian Islands
(Note: You’ll have to pick Koh Rong Samloem, Koh Touch or Saracen Bay, when booking)
Below is the location of the G.T.V.C. Speedboat Port in Kampot. It’s right on the Kampot River, next to the Bay of Cambodia. You can come here anytime before 9:15am to catch the ferry to the islands, or anytime between 7:30am and 5pm just to visit. There’s a coffee shop here, free Wi-Fi, and great views of the Kampot River.
Please use the bathroom in the Kampot Port (or Island Port) before you depart. There is a bathroom on the ferry, but it may be difficult to use if there are waves in the ocean.
Below is the location of the downtown G.T.V.C Booking Office.
G.T.V.C Speedboat Ferry Kampot downtown booking office.
This is the downtown office where the free bus leaves at 9am to the GTVC pier. Please be at the downtown office 10 minutes before the bus leaves, or be at the Port 15 minutes before the Ferry leaves.
You can also get a Tuk Tuk to or from the port. Good for 3 people and a lot of bags crammed in. It’s $4 to between the port and downtown, more for other destinations. If traveling alone, especially coming to Kampot from the Islands, you can share the Tuk Tuk!
We also use Grab or PassApp on our phones to call a Tuk Tuk, which works pretty good. Probably the quickest and cheapest option. If you’re staying in Kampot and don’t have your own transport, you’ll definitely want one of these apps. Best price and quickest service. And you don’t need to tell the driver where you are going. (They know already.) You can also rent an automatic scooter in town for $5+ a day.
you can also go to and from the Islands from…
The SihanoukVille Tourist Port
Travel time between the SihanoukVille mainland and the islands is about 30 to 50 minutes and $30 round trip. Most buses and the train stop right at (the train is a few minutes from) the SihanoukVille Port.

If it’s calm waters in the ocean, and you’re on the big boat, the ride is fun. You sail right next to Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam and between some smaller Cambodian Islands. It also goes past Ream National Park, Ream Naval Base and Sunny SihanoukVille.
If there’s bigger waves, the ferry slows down, it’s still fun, but you arrive later.
The best part about having the Kampot Port here in Kampot, is that you can spend a few days in Kampot on your way to or from the Islands.
Pack your bags… and get ready to go!
